Foldable Steel Storage Container
MEOX Foldable Steel Storage Containers are heavy-duty, collapsible steel boxes designed for moving companies, transportation agents, and commercial storage service providers all over the world. Made entirely of galvanized structural steel, each container not only ensures the security and weather protection of a typical steel box but also comes with the crucial functional benefit of folding flat to only 1.15 ft when not in use.
Maximizing Space Efficiency with MEOX Foldable Steel Storage Containers
For moving and storage companies, the benefits of minimizing space usage allow for the consolidation and shipping of a significant quantity of boxes at a considerably lower cost in comparison to traditional rigid units. Like, up to 18 units can be placed inside a single standard 40’HC shipping container (10 ft and 12 ft sizes), and up to 12 units for the 16 ft and 20 ft sizes.
The 20 ft unit, with 1,091.84 CU.ft of inside volume, is the household and commercial moving solution that we have been getting the most calls for. Every container is capable of being finished with custom RAL colors, company logo application and door placement to meet specifications, which makes them just as useful for fleet branding as they are for confidential storage.

What Makes Our Foldable Steel Storage Containers Different
ZN MEOX foldable steel storage containers are designed to be solid, safe, and compact storage solutions. They combine the strong steel structure with functional design aspects to suit a broad spectrum of industrial, commercial, and on-site uses. The key features of the ZN-MEOX Container Storage Box are highlighted below, showcasing its durability, security, and storage efficiency:
Galvanised Steel Construction
The frame, wall panels, roof, and floor are all made of structural steel that has been galvanised. Because of the metallurgical bonding of zinc and iron, the material can resist rust, corrosion, and UV damage for many years of outdoor exposure – it will not peel off paint, floors will not rot, and there will be no structural degradation due to moisture exposure.

Folds to 1.15 ft — Maximising Freight Efficiency
Empty units have a height of only 1.15 ft when collapsed. That means you can fit as many as 18 units (10 ft / 12 ft) or 12 units (16 ft / 20 ft) inside one 40’HC container. Repositioning empty units from the depot to the job is a huge operational overhead for any portable storage operation. For moving companies that manage large fleets, cutting that overhead means cutting the cost.
Rapid Setup — Faster Than Traditional Construction
Three workers can assemble a unit within 30 minutes by using basic hand tools and a crane. A concrete pad or a specialist contractor is not required. The units come on a standard flatbed truck, are put together as soon as they arrive, and can be loaded on the very same day.
Secure & Lockable
Double-leaf steel doors (5.89 ft W 6.37 ft H standard) with heavy-duty hinges, high-security bar locks, and dual padlock hasps come as standard items. Tamper-proof hardware makes it infeasible for intruders to forcibly open the doors. Client goods are securely locked in place without any risk of theft during transit staging, depot storage, and overnight lock-ups without a watchman.

Custom Colors, Logos & Door Positions
Each unit can be made based on your brand specification, e.g., full RAL colour range, company name and logo printed directly on external panels, and door location to match your loading workflow. Branded units are mobile advertising throughout every work and transport route.
Weatherproof Enclosure
Weatherproof protection is ensured by corrugated galvanised panels, a sloped drainage roof, and door perimeters tightly sealed. The units are wind-resistant, which means that the shed is suitable for outdoor depot storage in all North American climate zones, including the areas in northern Canada.
Long-Life Capital Asset
These features are expected to last 15-20 years in service. Given that each panel is secured with bolts, damaged parts can be easily swapped out without throwing the whole frame away. This way, your vehicle investment is safeguarded for the complete duration of its lifecycle.
Folding Floor Panels — Close-Up of Stacking Mechanism
Panel after panel slides exactly over the next in a telescoping sequence; each panel is sized and profiled so that, when fully folded, they nest together completely flush without any gaps or misalignment. In fact, this precise nesting is the reason for the 1.15 ft total collapsed height: there is hardly any thickness added to the folded stack by the floor. However, when unpacked, these same panels lock flat and make a continuous, completely flush walking surface, which is rated for the full floor load specification.

Galvanized steel gives the frame, wall panels, roof, and floor, forming a zinc-bonded layer that corrodes much more slowly outdoors compared to bare steel, roughly 1/30th the speed of uncoated steel. This offers several decades of low-maintenance performance without paint peeling, moisture-driven rot, or structural deterioration. Because of this, securing dependable service over the container’s 15-20-year lifespan. (American Galvanizers Association)

Overall Assembled Unit — Factory Ready
Complete exterior sight of a Foldable Steel Storage Container after the assembly in the ZN-MEOX factory, highlighting the white powder-coated steel panel finish, contrasting black structural frame, and end-wall door configuration.
Forklift Pockets — Base Frame
Rectangular forklift entry ports have been built inside the one-piece bottom base rail on both sides of the unit. This enables ordinary forklift tines to hook the container for various movements in the yard, loading onto flatbeds, and stacking, with no extra handling equipment needed. The pockets are made in the factory from the same structural steel as the base frame to ensure complete load transfer.

Pull Rings — Short-Distance Movement
Heavy-duty D-ring pull handles are attached by welding to the base beam at intervals along the entire length of the unit. This allows a pair of people to move the unit, whether folded or assembled, over short stretches on smooth floors – for example, to accurately place the unit in depot rows, storage yards, or on flatbed truck beds. The rings fold down against the frame when not in use.
Custom Flush-Mount Door Lock
ZN-MEOX Foldable Steel Storage Containers feature a unique recessed cam-lock housing set that is completely flush with the door panel. The lock body is positioned below the panel surface, so there is no visible hardware that can be easily targeted by bolt cutters or pry bars. The mechanism controls a multi-point steel bar lock system that is located behind the door skin. The entire lock hardware is corrosion-treated to match the panel finish.

One-Piece Bottom Structure & Corner Joint
Rather than being formed from separate bolted-together sections, the base frame is completely welded as one continuous piece. Such a one-piece build prohibits the production of flex points at the corners, helps the frame keep its shape even when loaded, and gives the forklift pockets and pull ring mounts a way of bearing load straight through the main steel section. The corner joint close-up reveals a full-penetration weld allowed at each base corner.
Custom Hexagonal Security Screws — Panel Fastening
All the panel-to-frame fasteners that are on the exterior side are custom-profile hexagonal security screws, i.e., not standard hex or Phillips heads. Through the use of a proprietary drive profile, the panels are not only unable to be removed by tools that are carried in a standard toolkit, but it also acts as a practical barrier against panel removal by an opportunist. Galvanizing of screws is done to match the frame corrosion rating.

Customization Options
ZN MEOX builds its products as per the buyers’ specifications. For removal companies and other transport service providers, many customizations that are demanded relate to matching the brand colours, the company’s logo being placed on the vehicle’s outer panels, and the position of doors that satisfy specific loading procedures. All choices can be ordered in the standard production runs; there might be a requirement for minimum order quantities for certain types of finishings.

Real-World Project Examples
The following examples illustrate how moving companies, transportation operators, and commercial storage providers utilize ZN-MEOX Foldable Steel Storage Containers in their daily activities.
Moving Company — Branded Fleet Expansion, United States
Customer Challenge
A medium-sized residential and commercial moving company in the US was expanding its portable storage division. They required a steel storage container that would represent their brand by matching the vehicle colours and the company logo, while also being inexpensive enough to relocate between regional depots when empty.
Why MEOX
Custom RAL colour matching was done, and printing logos on the panel, and the fold-flat empty repositioning took care of all three requirements. Branded units would act as mobile advertising on every delivery route. Shipping 18 folded 10 ft units per 40’HC container reduced return freight costs quite a bit compared to rigid competitors.
Outcome
The first booking was for twenty 20 ft containers with the brand color and exterior logo of the company. The fleet branding brought direct enquiries from customers who had seen the units during their neighbourhood moves, giving a measurable marketing return that went beyond the main storage purpose.
Transportation & Storage Operator — Canada
Customer Challenge
A logistics and warehousing company in Canada needed mobile steel storage containers to facilitate many home relocations, commercial inventory storage, and inter-warehouse movements. Since the company operated in a northern area, the containers had to be constructed that would protect against the elements; besides, the delivery had to be possible even without the use of a specialist crane, as some depot sites were very remote.
Why MEOX
The galvanized steel frame and the ability to withstand winds gave us confidence to store the containers outdoors in the depot during the harsh Canadian winters. Also, the fold-flat feature – 12 out of the 16 ft per 40’HC units – allowed the company to use their already existing flatbed trucks to transport the units without having to rent a crane.
Outcome
A total of twelve units in sizes of 16 ft and 20 ft were distributed among three depots. Custom side-wall door locations were a good fit for the company’s side-loading vehicle fleet. The units were moved from one depot to another two times during the first year of operation without any structural problems.

Application Scenarios
Though ZN MEOX Foldable Steel Storage Containers are deployed in various industries, the main use in the North American market is residential moving and portable storage. Major scenarios include:
- Moving Companies – portable storage pods for residential and commercial moves
- Transportation Operators – secure cargo enclosures for multi-stop delivery and staging
- Self-Storage Facilities – portable pod storage as a premium service tier
- Furniture & High – Value Goods Movers – lockable, secure client-site storage during staged moves
- Depot Operators – cost-efficient empty container consolidation and fleet repositioning
- Construction Sites – tool and materials storage where crane access is unavailable
- Warehouses & Logistics Centers – seasonal overflow, bonded storage, kitting areas
- Agriculture – equipment and supply storage at remote field locations
- Events & Exhibitions – branded, lockable equipment and merchandise storage
- Disaster Relief & Government Projects – rapid-deployment aid and equipment enclosures
Collections of tools and materials stored in MEOX foldable storage containers do not need a crane for installation. These containers are mainly used at construction sites located in isolated or hard-to-access areas, and it’s also commonly used by moving companies for transportation and storage. Besides storage units, the temporary on-site power distribution can be achieved with the help of ZN-MEOX prefabricated substations, which can be set up as a part of the entire site infrastructure.
